Well done to all Bower students who took part in the Preliminary Round of this year’s All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) on January 22nd. This contest allowed the girls to develop strategies for solving problems in fascinating languages from around the globe. They had to use their ingenuity to solve puzzles such as deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphics, decoding numerical spy codes, and interpreting ancient Mayan poetry. Students from 61 schools took part from all over the island.

Congratulation to 5th Years; Kylie Chen and Alexia Kimmel who finished in the top 200, with classmates Clare Reidy and Emma Harmon finishing in the top 100. Clare and Emma will now progress to the National Final on Wednesday, March 10th. The best of luck girls.
