Our TYs donned their white coveralls to work with Alison from Forensic Fun to gather clues, analyse, investigate & evaluate evidence, in order to solve a real-life crime. This workshop allowed the girls to use science in a practical way and delve into possible careers in An Garda Síochana’s Scene of Crime Unit, Forensic Science and Criminology.

The girls worked with the available evidence and the timeline of events surrounding the much-debated assassination of JFK. A purpose-made board game allowed them to discover more about the key personalities and their movements in the days leading up to and after the event. They got hands-on with replica firearms and a fingerprint scanner to see if they could crack the case.

Thank you to Alison for facilitating this very educational and entertaining workshop. The girls may have been left with more questions than answers however!
