IMG_0716The Rotary Club Young Chef competition was held in Our Lady’s Bower on Saturday 13 January with two students from the Bower, two from Athlone Community College and one from Coláiste Chiarán showing off their culinary and organisational skills. Martyna Sanecka and Emma Curran represented the Bower.

Kevin Ward from Athlone IT and Eoin O’Neill, head chef in the Sheraton Hotel were on hand to judge the dishes and were very impressed with the standard. Two students were chosen to go forward to the next stage of the competition to be held on 3 February against other Rotary clubs in the region. Congratulations to Emma Curran, a finalist last year, who wowed the judges with her pan-fried duck and to Ian Concannon from ACC.
