Six Word Short Story

To celebrate World Book Day 2019, students were invited to write a six word short story. The competition was inspired by Hemingway’s famous story, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn”. There was huge interest and great creativity was evident with some really witty and thought-provoking tales being submitted. The English Department had a task to select our winners.

Congratulations to 1st Year Ciara Fallon who took 1st place with “Romantic weekend with WiFi for two”.

2nd Year Niamh Jordan came 2nd with “Went to Paris, Eiffel for you”.

2nd Year Katie Broderick came 3rd with “Note: Next time bring a map”.

1st Year Lauren Smyth came fourth with “Six words, one girl, very confused”.

The girls were presented with their prizes by Principal, Mr Casey. Well done to all who entered.
