A strong contingent of Bower girls braved the elements on Monday January 27th for this year’s cross country schools event at Bushfield, Loughrea. The school entered competitors in minor, junior, intermediate and senior categories.

Lorraine Moran finished 9th and Kiera Murray finished 16th in the minor competition and progress to the Connacht Finals. They will also compete alongside Megan Flynn Kelly, Méabh Eager, Eugenia Calderon Gomez and Cristina Purai in the team event.

Alana Ní Chuinneagáin finished in 15th place with Kate Dalzell coming 21st. They too will compete as individuals along with Kellie Donohue in the intermediate team competition.

Rebecca Lowe finished 4th in the senior category with Áine Cassidy in 25th and Rebecca Collin in 26th place. All three have qualified individually and as a team.

All the runners put in fantastic performances and we wish the girls every success at the next stage of competition.
