Young scientist Exhibition

The Bt young scientist exhibition took place from the 10th to 12th of january in the RDS in dublin.  Four groups got through to the main event, the participants of these groups involved.

Horizon

Transition Year Trip to Westport-Horizon Adventure Centre

Every year the transition years in our school embark on a 3-day trip to the Horizon Adventure centre. They take part in many exciting activities such as Quad Biking, Zip-Lining, Surfing, Fencing, Archery, and Kayaking.

This is a great year bonding experience and involves making loads of new friends and experiences that will last a lifetime.

Day 1Morning: We went quad biking today it was brilliant. Everybody got saturated with mud but we all agreed it was the most fun thing we had ever done.

Day 1 Afternoon: We tried our hand at Zip-lining. It was the most speedily completed activity as we flew through the sharp evening air. It felt great!

Later that evening we played games inside that tested both our stamina and strength. We all had a great laugh.

Day 2 Morning: We awoke early excited to start the activities. Today we were going Surfing. There were a lot of complaints about putting on the wet wetsuits but the minute we hit the waves you could see the delight in everyone’s face!!

Day 2 Afternoon: We did both Archery and fencing. They proved to be quiet difficult skills but a lot of people were surprised what they could do with a little practice. It was a great experience for all involved.

Day 3 Morning: Our last activity was kayaking we had great fun playing and having races with the kayaks. It was a great finish to a brilliant 3-day adventure.
