Women's World Day of Prayer

Thank you to Mrs Barbara Foley-Fisher, who invited the class of 3A to participate in this year’s Women’s World Day of Prayer, in the Friary on Friday, March 1st. The Women’s World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement of Christian women. The day brings together women of various ages, races, cultures and churches in fellowship and understanding. It promotes justice and equality for women through prayer, partnership, service and celebration. This year’s service was written by women in Slovenia. The theme “Come, Everything is Ready” was based on Jesus’ parable about the invitation to a great dinner. The women of Slovenia, in their message, challenged us to open our hearts and homes to those not yet “at the table” and to ask ourselves how we can make a difference to the lives of the people who are often forgotten by the rest of the world. It was lovely to be part of such a thought-provoking and uplifting service and we thank Fr. John from the Friary and the members of the congregation for welcoming our girls so warmly.
