20181107_135827On Friday Nov. 16th the class of 3A travelled to the National Animal Centre in Keenagh, Co. Longford. The girls worked hard planning and carrying out a fundraising day in the school in aid of the charity and were very excited to personally deliver the money raised.

On arrival they met with Hugo, the centre manager aIMG-20181123-WA0008nd received information on the work of the ISPCA. They then received a tour of the facility with its stables, cattery and kennels. At the stables the class saw rescued horses, ponies, donkeys, geese and a goat. They found out about the care the centre gives to the animals and their rehoming programme. They then walked to the cattery and kennels with its cats, kittens, bunnies and dogs. They heard how these animals were rescued and how many of the dogs currently on site were found in terrible conditions on puppy farms.

Having seen the fantastic work of the charity first-hand, the girls were very happy to present a cheque for over €500 to the centre to help them in their continued efforts with the animals in their care. Well done girls and thank you to the centre staff for helping our students in the completion of their CSPE Action Project.
