Congratulations to our Parents Association who hosted a wonderful display of Bower talent at an end of year Showcase held in The Athlone Springs on Friday, May 10th.
Principal, Mr Noel Casey acted as compère for the evening’s proceedings and kept the audience well entertained. The show opened with a beautiful, combined performance from our orchestra and choir under the baton of Mr Hensey, Ms Hopkins and Ms Shine.
Our Irish dancers; Rosin Gleason, Emma Lynch, Hannah Lennon, Amy McGovern, Clodagh Rusenescu, Grace Delaney and Marianna Doolan, took to the stage with a performance that was reminiscent of River Dance. It was truly world-class with Grace and Marianna having recently returned from the World and International Irish Dance Championships in Eindhoven. Marianna came 8th in the U17 Premiership and Grace came 5th in the U17 World Championship.
Londi Ndlovu performed a contemporary dance, accompanied by Kate Mannion on the piano. The Ballet Troupe of Rebecca Armstrong, Tara Flanagan, Isabel Costello, Niamh Murray and Eimear Gillen showed grace and elegance as they wowed the audience.
Thank you to the ladies from Athlone A Capella who sang a beautiful medley of chorus songs. The tempo was then taken up a notch with our TYs performing scenes form their sold out musical production; Rock of Ages. They had the audience on their feet. Liadh & Eimear Nic Giolla Phrádaig preformed a jaw-dropping gymnastics routine. Kasey Quinn, Amy Quinn, Grainne Behan and Blaithin Behan then treated the crowd to a display of tremendous Irish dancing.
The final act of the night was a performance from our ever popular Junk Kouture teams. We would like to thank our Parents Association for organising this celebration of Bower talent. Thank you to all those who were in attendance and the very many businesses who so generously provided prizes for the raffle. Finally, congratulations to all those who took to the stage and ensured a great night’s entertainment for all.
