Congratulations to 5th year students Grace McGlynn and Nessa Curran who won 2nd place in a prestigious Spanish language competition, sponsored by the Spanish Embassy to Ireland. The girls have won an all-expenses-paid trip to Spain for themselves and their teacher, where they will attend a week-long Spanish language and culture course in Salamanca.

The competition required students to write and produce a short film in Spanish.

On 15th May, the girls, accompanied by School Principal Ms Beades and their Spanish teacher Ms Mooney, travelled to the Spanish Embassy in Dublin, where they were presented with their award by Spanish Ambassador to Ireland, Ion de la Riva. Ambassador de la Riva complimented the girls on the creativity and innovation of their video, as well as their high commend of the Spanish language.

We wish Grace and Nessa the best of luck on their adventure to Spain!
