The four groups from TY who have qualified for the Grand Finale of Junk Kouture 2015 have been extremely busy since the beginning of term, putting the finishing touches to their respective dresses. The show, which will take place in the Three Arena in Dublin this Friday, 24 April, has since its inception featured several entries from the Bower. Last year,  Pine-A-Colada worn by Ruth Gallagher was the overall winner and Recircuitable modelled by Aoife Manion  won the WEEE electrical award.

Understandably, this year’s entrants have high hopes.  Orla Kelly will model Spectacular, a dress created from the lenses and arms of old sunglasses. Sophie Beaumont will model Fruta de los Reyes made from avocados, while Michelle Dillon’s group created a dress using limes and coconuts. The final entry, Boxed In, has already been modelled by Irish model Sarah Morrissey at a promotion for the show. The outfit was made from old egg boxes and will be modelled by Alaina Kelly at the final.
