Well done to our Amber Flag Committee, who organised a wonderful hot chocolate and bake sale in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th in aid of Pieta House.

Committee members were busy in the run-up to the event designing posters depicting Irish Women that students should all know about & take inspiration from. These posters were placed on the committee’s noticeboard & dotted around the school.

Head Girl, Kate Mannion kicked off the day with a lovely message read over the intercom, in which she asked the school community to imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. She reminded all listening that together we can forge women’s equality and collectively we can all embrace equity.

The event raised €312.00, and the Amber Flag Committee would like to thank all who showed their support and gave so generously.
