Congratulations to 6th Year Clare Reidy, 5th Year Hannah Duffy and 2nd Year Michelle Hughes on their success at Scifest@College 2021 at Athlone Institute of Technology.
Hannah presented her work on “The Final Straw! Microplastics in Ireland’s Inner Lakes”. She scooped the Best Project Award, the Environmental Award and came in 1st place in the Intermediate Life Sciences category.
Clare presented her project “Cosmic Radiation Protection Simulation” and received 4 awards for her research. She came in 1st place in the Senior Physical Sciences category and was Best Project Award runner-up. She also won the Institute of Physics Award and the ESERO Discover Space award.
Michelle presented her research on the environmental benefits to be found by tapping into nature with her project “Blooming Good Algae” and came in 2nd place in the Junior Life Sciences category.
