A great morning was had by the members of our Alpha deBata Society on Tuesday January 8th, when Lauren from Concern Worldwide facilitated a workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals, with particular emphasis on SDG 13 – Climate Action. Climate Change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world today. The girls discussed how our behaviour here in Ireland has a large effect on climate change around the world and is also affecting us here at home. The girls got to flex their debating muscles in a walking debate on issues related to climate change and the knock-on effects this can have. They voiced their opinions on possible causes, effects and solutions. Thank you to Concern and Laura for delivering this workshop. She voiced how impressed she was by the students’ knowledge and left feeling very confident that the students of Our Lady’s Bower are firmly committed to acting as key agents for climate action.
