Well done to Aibhlin Clabby (captain), Katie Higgins, Claire Lemass and Corrina Mbugua who took part in the first round of the Concern debates on Wednesday, 26 October. The girls were proposing the motion that “Religious symbols should be allowed in public institutions in France”. In a very close decision, the more experienced opposition, Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon were declared the victors.
A big thanks to all of the staff and parents for their support and to Fr. Turlough for acting as chairperson and refereeing a lively question and answer session afterwards! Well done also to Ms Aisling Casey who will act as team mentor.
The next round of the competition will be held in Moate Community School on 15 November at 8pm. All support is welcome!
