On Monday, 19 October a group of eager sixth years completed an Ecological Fieldwork Study at Dublin Zoo. All students worked with great focus as they actively collected ‘friendly’ creatures and carried out quantitative studies of the flora of the selected habitat.

After three intense hours of work the girls took a well deserved break for lunch. The afternoon provided an opportunity to bring out their inner child as they explored all areas of the zoo. Highlights included the new Asian lion cubs born at the end of June, the elephants and the Sumatran tigers who were selected for selfies as only a sheet of glass separated man and very large cat!

Many fell in love with the Humboldt penguins with Aoife Kelly even having a little moment! Tara and Shauna were very disappointed to miss the orang-utans, but a fun and informative day was had by all.
