Our TY students started the year off on a very positive note with an intensive First Aid course delivered by OFA instructor, Garry Henneberry. Garry’s unique style of delivery, practical medical know-how with a joke or two thrown into the mix, ensured that the girls remained engaged throughout, while also acquiring and developing important life skills.
Training on the steps required to deal with both major and minor injuries and emergencies was provided. The girls were faced with a variety of scenarios throughout the day that allowed them to put their training into practice.
The year group is now certified in CPR. They know how to deal with burns, bleeding and concussion and the steps to be followed if ever faced with incidents of stroke, asthma, heart and epileptic attacks. We would like to extend our thanks to Garry for providing this invaluable training to our students.
