A two act play called S.A.M. was performed in the Gateway Youth Café in St. Mary’s Hall on Saturday, 22 September. This play was written by Bower student Deirdre Campbell “for young people, about young people”. Many teenagers from the town attended the drama which seeks to highlight the scourge of suicide among young people, and to show that there is a story behind every statistic. The drama was recorded by TV3 for a series called “Ireland’s Top Teens Finals”, so there may yet be an opportunity to see it. Well done to all involved for tackling this sensitive issue.
