Congratulations to 5th Year Bower student Iffah Rahmat, who has been elected International Officer with the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Iffah initially attended an ISSU working group in February – “Debate Your Decision Makers”. This event focused on the issues of education, sustainability and equality.
This experience motivated her to become more involved with the union and she began her online election campaign over Easter. Election day took place in Liberty Hall, Dublin and she was thrilled to be elected to Coiste Gnó – the National Student Executive as International Officer. She will now go on to represent Irish second-level students at The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) in Brussels.
Iffah will officially take up her office in July and is very excited to represent and share the voice of Irish students internationally. All in Our Lady’s Bower are very proud and wish her every success.
