President Beekeeper AssociationThe Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations of Ireland invited 2nd Years, Hannah Duffy and Niamh Jordan, to attend a civic reception at Dublin’s Mansion House on Thursday, January 31st. The girls had great success at this year’s BT Young Scientists and Technology Exhibition, with their project “Move Over Manuka – Irish Heather Honey Means Buzzness”. The Civic Reception was held to mark the FIBKA beekeepers’ success at the London Honey Show and as such, the association’s members were very impressed with the girls’ work in highlighting the benefits of our native honey. The girls got the opportunity to meet with Dublin Lord Mayor, Nial Ring and Paul O’Brien, President of Irish Beekeepers Association. They also gave an interview to ‘An Beachaire’, the association’s magazine, about their findings, which will feature in the publication’s next issue.
