Maths Week 2018, took place from the 13th to the 21st of October. An array of activities, during school and after, were organised by the Maths Department to mark the event.

All year groups were representedJunior PRISM in the PRISM Competition. PRISM is a Maths problem solving contest that is run nationally each year. It is run in the hope of encouraging students to develop their interest in maths problem solving and in maths in general. Our senior champion was 5th Year Floriana Melania Munteanu, with 3rd Year Clare Reidy coming out on top as the junior champion. Well done to all students who participated.

Mangahigh Online ChallengeThe Mangahigh Online Challenge ran throughout the week also. Students had lots of opportunities to score highly during school in maths class and every day during lunchtime. Students also took on the challenge after school, in Maths Club on Wednesday evening and even logging on at home. Well done to the top scorer, 3rd Year Ebunoluwa Jamgbadi. Puzzle of the Week winners were 2nd Year Londiwe Ndlovu, 3rd Year Grace McGorisk and 5th Year Isabelle Clarke. Each getting a €5 canteen voucher for their efforts.

1st Years enjoyed a maths table quiz on Friday. The winners were IlariaQuiz Winners Manenti, Mary Doyle, Jessica Gica and Ellen Carroll, who each received canteen vouchers worth €5. With Lauren Manser, Jade Doyle, Niamh McCarroll and Shauna Egan coming in 2nd and winning some sweet treats. Well done to all and thank you to the TYs who helped run the event.
