Congratulations to 5th Year Kylie Chen, who has won a National Digital Story Award with her entry in this year’s What’s Your Story Competition, in conjunction with Junior Cycle for Teachers and Post-Primary Languages Ireland. The competition was an initiative for junior cycle students of Modern Foreign Languages and encouraged them to combine their language and digital skills through the practice of digital storytelling to tell their own story.

Kylie’s creative stop motion video takes the viewer through her daily routine. It contains wonderful animation, sound effects and most importantly Kylie’s own language-rich French narration. It was showcased during an online celebration and awards ceremony on Wednesday December 16th, with Kylie receiving her prize of an Apple iPad and tripod, two €25 One4All vouchers and a goody bag from Languages Connect, in the post the following day. The school also received a plaque to mark this success.

Thank you to French teacher Ms Catherine Cooney, who provided this engaging learning opportunity to Kylie and her classmates.
