For two weeks or so the Bower biology lab became a nursery for the incubation and hatching of duck eggs from the Maguire farm in Offaly. Students from all classes popped in regularly to check on the latest Bower arrivals as the number of eggs diminished and the number of little furry bundles increased. The eggs, mostly Indian Runner and Aylesbury, have all hatched out and the ducklings have gone to a good home west of the Shannon.
