Congratulations to our first year maths students who qualified for the Midlands regional final of the IMTA maths competition. Clare Reidy, Emma Harmon, Elle Lennon and Ema Adefoaei were the top performers in the initial rounds of the competition held earlier in the year.
The final of this competition was held nationwide on the same night, Friday 12 May and all students sat the same test. The event was held in the Tullamore Court Hotel and at the end of the night Emma Harmon emerged as joint winner while Clare Reidy finished in joint fourth place.
Well done also to our Pi Maths team of Kate Duffy, Katie Commins, Minahil Sarfraz and Emma Gleeson who put in a good performance at the quiz hosted by the Marist the previous week. Congratulations to the Marist boys who yet again walked away with the coveted trophies.
Meanwhile Kate Duffy has emerged as the winner of the Sigma Cup for excellence in maths, for which third year higher level students competed over a series of tests.
