mock trials

The National Mock Trial Competition, organised every year by Public Access to Law, took place on Saturday, 25 April. Sixteen transition year students travelled to the National Criminal Courts in Dublin to take part in the competition which gave the students an inside view of how our legal system works. The girls became barristers, solicitors, jurors, witnesses, members of An Garda Síochána and courtroom artists in order to go up against teams from around the country. Isea O’ Brien, Izzy Hodder and Aibhlin Clabby were barristers for the day, Megan Higgins was a member of the Gardaí, while Orla Kelly and Hannah Ward were courtroom artists.

As usual, the girls enjoyed this unique experience and would recommend it to next year’s TY students.
