It was only a matter of time before this craze which is sweeping America and the United Kingdom hit our shores. President Obama has done it, Hilary Clinton too, the stars of sport, television and even residents of nursing homes. It preserves a moment frozen in time.
The footage shot in the Bower is one of only a handful shot in an Irish secondary school. It offers an insider’s view of a typical day in the school – with some funny bits added for a teenage audience and a surprise appearance by Dublin footballer, Jonny Cooper.
It sweeps from the entrance hall through to classrooms, gym, pitch, library, computer room, art room and science lab, recording the varied activities of a single day, even a seasonal Christmas market.
Well done to the production team led by producer/editor Bronte Fitzmaurice and to all the students who rose to the challenge.
The footage can be viewed on Youtube (https://youtu.be/zu8DD3duXMY) and includes an invitation to our Open Evening on 26 January.
Further information about the school is available on this website (don’t forget our very full archive of posts this year), on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, or in our updated prospectus which will be handed out in the primary schools next term.
