The annual Seó Raidió for Seachtain na Gaeilge was broadcast live from Our Lady’s Bower on Athlone Community Radio on Wednesday, 15 March.
As usual each year was well represented with poets, singers, dancers and actors.
TY students Maeve Curley and Kasey McCormack presented the show, ably assisted by their student production team. First years were well represented with 1V performing a little drama, many others reciting their own poems and others talking about the ciorcal cainte in the school.
Fifth year Rachel Connaughton played the harp, first year Clare Reidy the cello and the Dully sisters,
Cliona and Eirinn performed sean nós dances.
Even staff members joined in as Ms Benson played a tune!
Many thanks to Athlone Community Radio for their assistance and we look forward to more Irish language ventures in the future. Congratulations to Mr Keating for pulling it all together.
