Congratulations to past pupils Michelle Ganly and Jackie Gorman who have been recognised for their achievements recently.Michelle picked up the prestigious Sales Person of the Year award following a very successful year for the family business, while Jackie was thrilled to have her poetry included in the Poetry Ireland publication ’A Bowl Of Mysteries.’ It also includes a short essay on formative experiences with poetry.
Gráinne O’Neill RIP
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the death of past pupil Gráinne O’Neill recently. For us she will forever be the quintessential Bower girl, throwing herself enthusiastically into every school activity – sport, debating, choir, tours, musical – and even giving the boarding school a go as a senior.
On leaving school she set about realising her dream with a focused and steely determination, fully deserving of the honour
of being the youngest judge appointed to the circuit court at only forty-two.
Although busy she often made time for her alma mater, returning to adjudicate the Bugler Shield debate while also offering her advice on careers in law.
We are immensely proud to say that she will forever be a Bower girl.
