On Wednesday, May 8th students travelled to the Marian shine at Knock for our annual 1st Year pilgrimage. The girls travelled with their Year Head Mrs Craven, members of the Religion and Music departments and 5th year helpers. The girls enjoyed a guided tour of the shrine, visiting its wonderfully renovated basilica, Stations of the Cross, Chapel of Reconciliation and the site’s museum. The students got the opportunity to experience and understand the historical context of the apparitions by exploring the artefacts on display in the museum’s thatch cottage and forge.
In the afternoon, mass was celebrated by Fr Mark in the Apparition Chapel. The year group formed the choir and other pilgrims in the congregation were very complementary of our girls’ voices. Thank you to Ms Hopkins and Ms Shine for leading the choir on the day. Thank you also to Fr Mark. We appreciate his continued support in the celebration of the liturgical year in our school.
