Well done to Olive Kennedy and the ladies from Athlone Hockey Club on a very successful hockey blitz for primary school children. The blitz took place at the Regional Sports Centre on Thursday, 22 October and catered for over four hundred children spread over two sessions, playing matches on twelve small pitches. The matches were umpired by twelve very capable Bower TY students, while their classmates acted as team managers for the young children. The Bower girls had already met the young players as they help with coaching in the schools each week. Well done girls!
