The National Ploughing Championships, one of Europe’s biggest outdoor events, took place between the 17th and 19th of Sept. in Co. Carlow. The school was thrilled to have Roll Model – Junk Kouture Glamour Award 2019 winner, included in an exhibit throughout the week.
The dress, designed and modelled by Rebecca Collins, Lauren Gallagher and Anna O’Donovan, was displayed alongside two other 2019 competition winners in the Learning, Education and Training area of the Government Village. The Exhibition by Junk Kouture was in conjunction with Creative Ireland – a five year government initiative to place creativity at the centre of public policy.
Our current TYs are very excited to see what is in store for them with the 2020 competition. Junk Kouture and the skills it incorporates is a big part of the TY Programme and it is lovely to see the connection our students form with the competition do not end on leaving school. Bower girl Katie Brill, winner of the Red Carpet Prize in 2012 with “Rejuicing is Appealing”, will be working with the “Kouture” platform as Ambassador for Lifestyle this year. This platform will run in conjunction with the JK 2020 competition, with ambassadors creating content on a variety of different aspects. We wish Katie every success and look forward to seeing the content she shares.
