Bower students can be assured that their Irish teachers are very much in favour of keeping Irish as a compulsory subject on the curriculum. As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge activities the Alpha de Beta Debating Society organised a staff versus student debate on this hot topic.
Attended by all senior students this was a very lively affair with much input from the floor, especially from Ms Fox! Katie Ward, Danielle Mullins and Nuala Commins fought hard for their side, that Irish should be optional, but they were no match for the fire and passion of Ms Finneran, Mr MacCarthy and the outstanding Ms Dolan who won the popular vote.
