The much awaited Cupcake Final took place in the school on Thursday morning, 20 November. The ten finalists were first years Sarah Dolan, Ailbhe Moylan, Katlyn Murray, Chloe Gavin, Aideen O’Halloran, Niamh Henry and Michelle Melvin and second years Katie Ward, Eadaoin Fleming and Emma Curran.
The girls had not only to come up with their own recipe for the cupcakes, but also bake and decorate them to a high standard during the allotted time.
The competition was judged by retired staff member Mary Burke and deputy principal Anne Beades, a difficult task given the high standard of the cupcakes. The eventual winner was Chloe Gavin whose recipe was called ‘Pretty Peacocks’, Ailbhe Moylan was second with her’Sweet Little Recipe Book’ and Michelle Melvin was third with ‘Busy Bees’. Well done to all and many thanks to the judges, especially Mrs Burke who took time out of her busy schedule to help out.
