The always innovative BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition is set to mark its 57th year with the event going virtual in 2021. The Bower is thrilled that current restrictions will not prevent our science enthusiasts from participating in this prestigious event. The virtual nature of this year’s competition will in fact allow our girls to showcase their work to a much wider audience.

Michelle Hughes (1st Year) will be presenting her project “Blooming Good Algae” in the Junior Biological and Ecological category. Anna Harney and Lorraine Moran (2nd Year) have reached the final in the Junior Technology category with their investigation into the potential of loam energy as a renewable energy source. TY Hannah Duffy will present “The Last Straw” in the Intermediate Biological and Ecological category.

We wish them every success with their research over the coming months and with the presentation of their findings when the competition kicks off from 6th – 8th January 2021.
