Congratulations to Aishling Dowd, Eva Barry, Síomha Kirwan and Emily Grace who competed in the Feachtas All Ireland Tráth na gCeist final in Dublin on 11 March. They were narrowly edged out of third place, finishing fourth out of 22 regional winners from all over the country. They are determined to return next year and scoop first place! ’Beidh lá eile ag an bfaorach’
Well done also to juniors Kate Brennan, Molly Crossen, Aisling Gillen, Caoimhe Kenny, Chloe Bertles and Rachel Connaughton who did very well in the Seachtain na Gaeilge Tráth na gCeist which took place in Ballinasloe on 10 March. ‘Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí’
During Seachtain na Gaeilge the focus is on the promotion of our culture. Some junior Irish dancers enjoyed great success at the recent Connacht Championships.
Sarah Qualter and Lauryn Sheerin finished first in their age group, while Kayleigh Mannion was second and Emma Curran third.
At a different venue in Sligo, Daire Jamil was fourth in her group. All of the girls have qualified for the All Ireland Championships in April.
Good luck to all students competing.
